- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 12 ounces spaghetti
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1/2 cup white wine
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Cook Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet, season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
- Sauté Tomatoes: In the same skillet, add the halved cherry tomatoes and sauté for about 2 minutes until they begin to soften.
- Add Wine and Lemon: Pour in the white wine and lemon juice, bringing the mixture to a simmer. Let it reduce slightly for 2-3 minutes to concentrate the flavors.
- Toss Pasta and Shrimp: Return the cooked spaghetti and shrimp back to the skillet. Toss everything together to combine and heat through evenly.
- Finish with Parsley and Cheese: Stir in the chopped fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese, mixing well to coat the pasta and shrimp with flavor.
- Serve: Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese and parsley if desired for an elegant touch.
Notes
- Use fresh shrimp for best flavor and texture.
- You can substitute white wine with chicken broth if preferred.
- Adjust red pepper flakes to control spiciness.
- Reserve some pasta water to loosen the sauce if it seems dry.
- For a creamier version, add a splash of heavy cream along with the wine.
