Description

These Cheesy Garlic Chicken Wraps are a delicious, quick meal perfect for lunch or dinner. Packed with tender chicken, a blend of melted cheeses, and a flavorful garlic butter exterior, these wraps are crisped to perfection in a skillet and can be customized with fresh veggies for added crunch and freshness.

Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 2 cups cooked shredded or chopped chicken
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup softened cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley or 1 teaspoon dried parsley

Wraps

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic

Optional

  • Baby spinach, shredded lettuce, or sliced tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, shredded mozzarella cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and chopped parsley. Mix thoroughly until the mixture becomes creamy and cohesive, ensuring all ingredients are evenly combined.
  2. Assemble the wraps: Lay the flour tortillas flat on a clean surface. Spoon approximately one-quarter of the filling mixture into the center of each tortilla. If desired, add optional vegetables such as baby spinach, shredded lettuce, or sliced tomatoes on top of the filling. Fold the sides of each tortilla inward and then roll tightly from the bottom up to form secure wraps.
  3. Prepare garlic butter: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with the minced garlic thoroughly. Using a brush, generously coat the outside of each wrap with the garlic butter mixture to add flavor and aid browning.
  4. Cook the wraps: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place each wrap seam-side down in the skillet and toast for 2 to 3 minutes per side. Cook until the outside is golden and crisp, and the cheese inside has melted completely.
  5. Serve: Remove wraps from the skillet, slice each wrap in half diagonally, and serve warm. They pair wonderfully with dipping sauces like ranch dressing or garlic aioli for extra flavor.

Notes

  • Using cooked chicken, such as rotisserie or leftover chicken, speeds up preparation.
  • Ensure the skillet is properly heated to medium to avoid burning the garlic butter coating.
  • Wraps can be customized with your favorite fresh vegetables or sauces.
  • Leftovers can be reheated in a skillet or oven to retain crispiness.
  • For a lower calorie option, substitute mayonnaise with Greek yogurt.
