Ingredients
Scale
Cauliflower Steaks
- 1 medium head Cauliflower
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
Toppings
- 1 1/2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 1 tablespoon Fresh Parsley (chopped, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure it’s hot enough to roast the cauliflower steaks evenly.
- Prepare Cauliflower Steaks: Remove any leaves from the cauliflower head. Slice the cauliflower crosswise into approximately 1-inch thick steaks carefully so they hold together.
- Season Steaks: Place the cauliflower steaks on a baking sheet. Drizzle them with olive oil and evenly sprinkle garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper to infuse flavor.
- Bake Initially: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast the cauliflower steaks for 20 minutes, allowing them to soften and develop a roasted taste.
- Add Cheese and Continue Baking: Remove the baking sheet, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese generously over each steak, and return to the oven. Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden.
- Garnish and Serve: Optionally, sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the cheesy cauliflower steaks for a fresh finish. Serve warm to enjoy the melty, flavorful dish.
Notes
- Use a sharp knife to carefully slice the cauliflower to maintain the steak shape.
- For extra crispiness, broil the steaks for the last 2-3 minutes but watch carefully to avoid burning the cheese.
- Substitute cheddar with mozzarella or a cheese blend if preferred.
- This dish is vegetarian and can be made gluten-free by ensuring the seasoning is gluten-free.
- Leftovers can be reheated in the oven to keep the cheese melted and the steak crispy.
