Ingredients
Scale
Cauliflower and Cheese Tots
- 1 head cauliflower, steamed and finely chopped (with liquid squeezed out)
- 1 tsp garlic granules
- 1 cup oat flour (blended oats)
- 1/2 cup mild cheddar cheese (or goat cheese)
- 1 egg
- Black pepper, to season
- Drizzle olive oil
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: Add the steamed and chopped cauliflower, garlic granules, oat flour, cheese, egg, and black pepper into a mixing bowl. Use a spoon to stir thoroughly until all ingredients are fully combined into a consistent mixture.
- Shape the Tots: Take a tablespoonful of the mixture and, using your hands, shape it into small rounds or tot shapes. Place each shaped tot on a plate, ready for cooking.
- Prepare for Cooking: Lightly drizzle a very small amount of olive oil over the shaped tots to help with browning and crispiness during cooking.
- Air Fry: Preheat your airfryer to 200ºC (392ºF). Place the tots in the airfryer basket, ensuring they are spaced apart. Cook for 8-10 minutes until the tots are golden and crispy on the outside.
- Serve: Remove the tots from the airfryer carefully and serve immediately with your choice of dip and a side of fresh strawberries for a nutritious meal or snack.
Notes
- Ensure the cauliflower is squeezed well to remove excess moisture to help tots hold their shape better.
- Oat flour can be made by blending rolled oats until fine if you don’t have oat flour on hand.
- You can substitute mild cheddar with goat cheese for a different flavor or if preferred.
- Adjust cooking time slightly depending on your airfryer model for optimal crispiness.
- Suitable for baby-led weaning, but always supervise young children when eating small finger foods.
